About

I was born in Stoke-on-Trent and spent my early life living in neighbouring Newcastle-under-Lyme.

The photographic journey started with a surprise Christmas gift of a Kodak Brownie 127 from my parents. The joy of photography has been with me ever since. In my teens and early twenties I became more and more interested in photography, not only taking photographs but also teaching myself to process and print black and white. Then in my early thirties I managed to fulfil my photographic dream by making a career change. I enrolled to study photography full time and went on to work as a professional photographer before becoming a lecturer in photography.

I now live in a semi-rural location in South Cheshire and in my retirement now make  videos but  photography is still my first love.

Special thanks to my daughter Frances for creating this website
